As a school nestled in the beautiful Cornish countryside, we place great value on outdoor learning and exploration. From our engaging outdoor spaces to opportunities to learn beyond the classroom, we encourage children to develop a love of the natural world, build independence and gain confidence through real-life experiences. We want every child to appreciate the outdoors, understand their role within their community and feel inspired by the environment around them.

We are incredibly proud to have been recognised with a National School Attendance Award, placing Lostwithiel School in the top 10% of similar primary schools in England for attendance. This achievement reflects the hard work of our pupils, families, and staff, who understand that every day in school matters. Regular attendance helps children build confidence, develop strong relationships, and make the most of every learning opportunity. We are also delighted that our recent Ofsted inspection recognised our work in Attendance and Behaviour as Exceptional, highlighting the positive culture, high expectations, and strong support that underpin everything we do. Apple class take part in a variety of fine motor skills daily. These help support small muscle control, hand strength and co ordination needed for every tasks including using a pen or fastening buttons. Also we have fun whilst we do it!
