A very warm welcome to our school website. I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Lostwithiel Primary School where we have an amazing team of talented, dedicated staff and energetic, enthusiastic and happy children. Our school is committed to safeguarding children with the health, safety and emotional well-being of every child being our main priorities. Our aim is that children will thrive during their time with us, in a happy and safe environment and reach their full potential through experiencing a stimulating curriculum and wide range of extracurricular activities.

What's new?
What a way to finish a fantastic year of oracy! Last night saw the grand finale of our Chatterfest competition, where pupils delivered powerful speeches on the theme "If I Could Change the World in One Way." From ending plastic pollution and teaching kindness as a school subject, to improving mental health provision and ensuring every child has the right to an education, our competitors chose topics close to their hearts and spoke with passion, courage and conviction. Their words moved our audience on more than one occasion and showcased the confidence, empathy and communication skills that have been developed through our commitment to oracy. We are incredibly proud of every child who took part. Their voices reminded us all of the difference young people can make when they are given the opportunity to speak and be heard. A huge thank you to our judges, Anna Iliffe and Simon Pollard. We had been so fortunate to have had free sailing lessons for our Year 4 - 6 children this term, thanks to the Roseland Youth Sailing Trust and Fowey Gallants Sailing Club. Our sessions ended today with an amazing sail out into the bay, some 'accidental' capsizes () and a lot of fun in the water. Our pupils have learnt such a lot - to respect the water, to be confident sailors, to work as a team and rely on each other, resilience and perseverance. At Lostwithiel Primary School we know that education extends beyond the classroom and we love providing pupils with these experiences as they are invaluable, memorable and just wonderful.
