  • Today we celebrate the 100th birthday of the legendary broadcaster and natural historian, Sir David Attenborough. The contribution he has made to educating generations about the natural world, and inspiring people across the globe to protect our precious planet, is unparalleled. This afternoon the whole school has taken part in activities linked to Sir David's work and legacy. Maple Class also visited The Lost Gardens of Heligan this week to learn all about how to encourage biodiversity and how their team are protecting endangered species through their amazing conservation work. At Lostwithiel School we are deeply committed to outdoor education as we recognise not only the importance of protecting and preserving our environment, but also the positive impact that nature can have on children's health and wellbeing. In a world where technology is advancing at such a rapid pace, providing opportunities for our pupils to learn, explore and connect with nature has never been more important. So we say Happy Birthday, Sir David - we are eternally grateful for your commitment to conservation and will carry your legacy forwards in the work we do each day. Team Losty

  • Team Losty...I know we're all tired, but if we can just squeeze in two days at the very end of term for a Leadership Development day and an open day for the Attendance and Behaviour Hub that would be great! I am so proud to lead such a brilliant team - the feedback shows just how amazing they are every day!
