I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Lostwithiel Primary School where we have an amazing team of talented, dedicated staff and energetic, enthusiastic and happy children. Our school is committed to safeguarding children with the health, safety and emotional well-being of every child being our main priorities. Our aim is that children will thrive during their time with us, in a happy and safe environment and reach their full potential through experiencing a stimulating curriculum and wide range of extracurricular activities.

Aspirations Day 2026 Today our children explored a wide range of careers as part of our Aspirations Day, helping them to see how the skills and knowledge they learn in school can open doors to future opportunities. We were delighted to welcome visitors who shared their experiences in careers including international sales, nursing, journalism, cheffing, sailing instruction, harbour management and theatrical costume design. A huge thank you to all of our visitors for inspiring our pupils and helping them to understand that with hard work, determination and a love of learning, they can achieve their ambitions and follow many different careers paths. #AspirationsDay#InspiringYoungMinds#

We're proud to share some exciting news! Lostwithiel Primary School has been recognised as a Voice 21 Oracy Centre of Excellence, becoming only the second school in the South West to receive this national award! Oracy is the ability to communicate effectively through speaking and listening, helping children express their ideas and build relationships. This recognition celebrates the work we do every day to help children develop the communication skills they need to thrive in school and beyond. Alongside our protected weekly Forest School curriculum , this reflects our commitment to giving children meaningful opportunities to connect with each other, build confidence and develop the essential life skills that matter most in an increasingly screen-based world.
