Apple Tree Class

"GROWING ADVENTUROUS LEARNERS"
Welcome to our Apple Tree Class page. Here you will find information about our curriculum and ways in which you can help your child. Our ambitious EYFS curriculum has been designed to build on prior learning and development and prepare our children for their next stage and beyond. We consistently deliver high standards in the Early Years ensuring that our teaching our Early Reading starts on day one. The high quality teaching of phonics and reading materials that reinforce and link with sounds learnt ensure all learners make progress in reading. We have made careful and deliberate choices to ensure learning links with future areas of enquiry. We start by looking at ourselves and where we live to help children make connections to themselves and their environment so they can then start to look outwards into the wider world. Learning is designed so all children make good levels of progress throughout the year. Exploratory learning, developing skills, thinking creatively and solving problems are central approaches. We want our children to use their senses, learn through carefully planned play and rich first hand experiences, igniting a love of learning and a curiosity about the world.

I have taught in Reception for 21 years and can hand on heart say that I have loved every minute in the classroom. It has been an absolute privilege to teach so many children at Lostwithiel Primary School. It's a special place for children to learn and grow and a magical place to work.
