PSHE

At Lostwithiel Primary School we follow the Jigsaw scheme to ensure all of our learners access high quality PSHE and RSE lessons.

Jigsaw brings together Personal, Social, Health Education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a comprehensive scheme of learning. Teaching strategies are varied and are mindful of the need for differentiation.
At Lostwithiel School we work together on the same theme (Puzzle) each half term.

Our themes are as follows;

Autumn 1 - Being in my World

Autumn 2 - Celebrating Difference

Spring 1 - Dreams and Goals

Spring 2 - Healthy Me

Summer 1 - Relationships

Summer 2 - Changing Me

Relationships and Sex Education

It is important for parents to understand the content and coverage of our PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) and RSE (Relationships and Sex Education) curriculum.
By following the Jigsaw programme of study for both of these areas, we ensure that all resources are age appropriate and that our lessons are delivered in a consistent, sensitive and considerate way.
Below you will find an overview of content taught across the whole school, as well as some information for parents about the way in which PSHE and RSE is taught through the Jigsaw programme.
If you have any questions about the content of our PSHE or RSE curriculum please do not hesitate to contact us.
